I just followed these steps to successfully install the drivers on Vista RC1 x86 with one small change: Its easy enough to find the driver on the mediatek website, just search, have to give name and email and copy the characters correctly to download, i followed the advice above and am goin to try the rt driver, ill post back if it doesnt work out. The download is an installer. A warning poped up, saying not recomended. If you have another version of the card, you may have to search to find out what version of Ralink’s chipset it is using or do a little try and die until you get it. Now go into the Device Manager and find the Network Card should be flagged under Network Adapters since the driver hasn’t been found yet by Windows.

Obviously throw on a flash drive if you are downloading from another computer. Find it in the list of devices and uninstall it.

I did end up using the Conceptrinic. The download is an installer. I’m running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit and ended up with the WMP54GV4 wmp54t what’s printed on the card and followed your instructions with a few differences due to the Windows 7 interface. This worked amazing, thanks so much!!! In the case of my v4.

For many days I’ve tried similar fixes with no results. They still provide the drivers somewhere on their site. Once you open linksys wmp54g vista 64 bit Systems icon, on the left hand side click on Device Manager. It was great advise. I’ve noticed a lot of posts regarding the lack of Vista-compatible Linksys wireless card drivers but no posted solutions of wm54g nature.
